[General Robotics Company Sharpa Secures Over 4.5 Billion Yuan in Funding, with Alibaba, Tencent, and Others Participating] According to Deep Tide TechFlow on August 28, as reported by LatePost, General Robotics Company Sharpa has completed over 4.5 billion yuan in funding. Investors include industry giants such as Alibaba, Meituan, Tencent, and JD.com, as well as investment institutions like Sequoia China, Qiming Venture Partners, and Meituan DragonBall. The post-investment valuation stands at 22 billion yuan. This marks the first public disclosure of funding since Sharpa's establishment. Sharpa was founded at the end of 2024 by Li Yifan, CEO of Hesai Technology, and others, focusing on the development of dexterous general-purpose robots and components. Li Yifan stated that while the robotics industry has a high concentration of capital, talent, and attention, it still lacks clear standards. He predicts that the future market size could reach 10 times that of the automotive industry, with even higher levels of concentration. Sharpa plans to first achieve commercial implementation in real-world scenarios, accumulating generalization capabilities and data, and gradually enter household scenarios starting in 2028. Li Yifan emphasized that real-world implementation must meet three conditions: no specialized environmental modifications, fully autonomous robot operation, and the ability to complete multi-step complex tasks.
