[Citadel Securities: Over 80% of Overall Risk in Situational Awareness Fund Portfolio Divested Through Block Trades]
Odaily Planet Daily News – Citadel Securities founder Ken Griffin responded in a letter to clients on Friday regarding the company's acquisition of assets from Leopold's Situational Awareness Fund. According to a letter obtained by CNBC, Griffin informed clients that Citadel Securities had divested over 80% of the overall risk in the acquired portfolio through more than 100 block trades (with a market value exceeding $4 billion).
Griffin wrote in the letter: 'Such a large-scale transaction would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of the trading and prime brokerage teams serving both companies' banks. I am deeply grateful for their focused efforts in swiftly completing the portfolio transfer.'
Griffin also confirmed that the company's flagship multi-strategy fund, the Wellington Fund, achieved a return of 5.94% in July. CNBC previously reported that this was the fund's best monthly performance since 2022. (FT)
