The sky fell this morning—my biological clock was a bit off, and I didn’t wake up until after 9. Then I saw that SK in the Korean stock market dropped more than 7%, but the ADR didn’t show a significant decline. So I placed short orders between $153 (current price) and $155.6 (yesterday’s closing price). Took another nap, woke up, and realized I made money. The lowest point at that time should’ve been around $151. I was pretty happy and thought to myself, “Yesterday I gave up a watermelon for a sesame seed, but today I’m holding on. I’m not just walking away with a bowl of fried rice.” But I wasn’t paying much attention and started writing instead. In the middle of it, I vaguely saw some news about SK Hynix saying they’re planning to repurchase stocks worth about 40 trillion KRW. It flashed by quickly, and I didn’t pay much attention. When I finished posting my first tweet and came back to check my positions, I suddenly realized I was taking a huge loss—almost got liquidated! Even though it was just $10, getting liquidated still hurts. That’s when I remembered SK’s positive news and quickly closed my position. I did consider flipping to go long, but I felt that a buyback announcement is just a company-specific positive, not necessarily a bullish signal for the entire industry. But then I saw Sandisk and Micron were also going up, and I got a bit confused. Right now, I’m thinking of placing a short order at $168 to test the waters. If this is just an emotional reaction to the news, the U.S. market should gradually pull back after it opens tonight, right? Since I’m not sure, I’ll just leave the order there, set up a stop-loss, and see what happens. @Gate Crypto, U.S. stocks, Hong Kong stocks, Korean stocks, gold, CFDs, prediction markets—all in one place!
