["Big Short" Michael Burry Updates Portfolio: Exits Tesla and Applied Materials Shorts, Reduces Semiconductor Shorts, and Increases Bearish Bets on Nasdaq]
BlockBeats News, August 14: Michael Burry, the prototype for "The Big Short," disclosed his latest portfolio holdings. His long positions are primarily concentrated in Adobe, MercadoLibre, Zoetis, JD.com, etc., with each position accounting for approximately 8%. Other holdings, including Lululemon, PayPal, Veeva, Flutter, Molina Healthcare, and HCA Healthcare, each account for about 7%. Positions in Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Sprouts each account for about 5%.
On the short side, Burry currently holds short positions in iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX), Micron Technology, Nebius, Nvidia, Oracle, Palantir, Caterpillar, and others, ranked by size from largest to smallest. He also holds put options on the Invesco QQQ Trust, which account for approximately 6% of his portfolio.
In terms of portfolio adjustments, Burry has completely closed his short positions in Tesla and Applied Materials, stating that both trades were profitable. He also sold all his SOXX put options and instead established a larger position in QQQ put options. Additionally, he reduced his short position in Caterpillar, increased his short position in Micron, and raised his cash allocation to 12%.
Based on his disclosed adjustments, Burry has shifted his focus away from betting solely on a decline in the semiconductor sector and has instead increased his bets on a broader decline in the Nasdaq market.
