[Morgan Stanley: Investors Increase Dollar Long Positions Ahead of Fed Meeting]
According to a report by Golden Finance, on July 28, Morgan Stanley strategists cited data indicating that investors have increased dollar long positions and pound short positions ahead of this week's Federal Reserve and Bank of England policy meetings.
'Options pricing data shows that investors have added positions to go long on the U.S. Dollar Index and short on the British pound,' strategists Molly Nickolin, David Adams, and Andrew Watrous wrote on Monday. 'Options data points to long dollar positions, while futures market data also suggests dollar long positions,' they said. 'Asset management companies are primarily long on the euro and short on the pound, while leveraged funds are more inclined to go long on the pound and short on the New Zealand dollar.'
