History is a strange circle.
▌2018: Reddy co-founded FalconX
▌2020: FalconX raised $17 million, with Accel participating
▌2022: FalconX completed Series D funding with a valuation of $8 billion
For Accel, Reddy has proven his ability to achieve "non-linear growth" in bringing a company to a hundred-fold valuation in just a few years.
▌2024: Reddy founded OpenFX
▌2026: OpenFX announced $94 million in Series A funding, with Accel leading the round
▌2028: ??
Did you think that was all there is to the story?
Reddy's connection with Accel is much deeper than you might imagine.
As early as 2008 and 2014, Reddy founded nFusion and Dramatize, both of which were eventually acquired by India's largest entertainment ticketing giant BookMyShow, and the core capital driver behind BookMyShow is Accel.
Accel led the investment in BookMyShow as early as 2012 and has long held a seat on the board.
In 2016, Prabhakar made the most significant career shift: joining Accel India directly as an investor.
He was involved in managing the $450 million Accel India V fund, using his connections in India to help Accel reach outstanding entrepreneurs from non-traditional backgrounds.
So, Accel leading the investment in OpenFX is essentially a case of "family investing in family."
