The China Association for Enterprise Reform and Development released the 2026 Energy Industry Ecosystem Report, saying that over the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–25) wind and solar installed capacity historically exceeded thermal power. Nuclear operational capacity remains the largest globally and biomass power installed capacity has ranked first worldwide for seven consecutive years. Investment in national energy key projects topped 3.5 trillion yuan in 2025 for the first time, up about 11% YoY. Wind and solar installed capacity rose from 530 GW in 2020 to 1,840 GW in 2025.(金十数据)
