Preliminary data released by vessel tracking agency Kpler on Wednesday indicated that the four vessels passing through the strait included one Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC), one Panamax tanker, one Kamsarmax bulk carrier, and one Medium Range (MR) tanker. Among these four vessels, one entered the Hormuz Strait, while three exited. Since some vessels typically turn off their transponders during navigation, the above data may still be subject to change. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, a total of 18 bulk commodity transport vessels passed through another critical maritime chokepoint in the Middle East, the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, with seven entering and 11 exiting. In comparison, the 10-day average for vessels passing through the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait is approximately 24 per day. Among the vessels passing through this strait were two Aframax tankers and one Suezmax tanker.
