Tests revealed that meme coin transactions made with Visa and Mastercard credit cards were categorized as 'Digital Goods Media' (MCC 5815), a category typically used for products like e-books and digital movies, rather than the MCC 6012 or 6051 codes designated for crypto transactions. These transactions are supported by crypto infrastructure company Crossmint, and users can also earn credit card points or cashback rewards.
