THE BLOCK: Twenty-one major financial institutions have committed to establish a new stablecoin company in the second half of 2026, moving the initiative beyond the exploratory stage announced by 10 banks last October. The group has added 13 members, including Fidelity, Wells Fargo, Capital One, WisdomTree, BBVA, Lloyds and Standard Bank, while Barclays and BNP Paribas are no longer listed. The yet-to-be-named company aims to launch a USD stablecoin in the first half of 2027, with a euro stablecoin and other G7 currencies planned later.(The Block)
