On the news front, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus, officially succeeded Tim Cook as the company’s eighth CEO, with Cook transitioning to the role of Executive Chairman of the Board. Apple’s official website updated its “Leadership” page on the same day to reflect the changes. Previously, Apple announced that it would hold its largest product launch event of the year at its Cupertino headquarters on September 9 at 10:00 AM Pacific Time (1:00 AM Beijing Time the following day). This will be the first major product launch led by Ternus as CEO. Apple is expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone, marking the biggest design change in nearly 20 years since the iPhone’s debut. The company also plans to release the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, featuring faster chips, improved battery life, and significant camera upgrades.
