The combination of consumer-grade AI and Crypto—recently, @MYAIPETS announced the completion of a $2.6M seed round financing, with participation from Amber, ViaBTC Capital, TBV, and other institutions. The team shared an interesting insight: most AI Agents today are stateless. They open a temporary window, complete a task, and then close the window, with the memory reverting back. Models change, apps shut down, and the relationships users build over months essentially boil down to a single line of data on someone else's server. MyAIPets aims to make memory, identity, and growth records something users can take with them and verify. Here, the pet is not just a conversational interface—it’s been upgraded to a transferable identity object, focusing on three key points: - A complete memory graph that can be exported; - Memory as a digital fingerprint, stored on-chain; - Check-ins, conversations, and interaction days preserved as immutable interaction records, referred to as the state layer. The corresponding technical product is called PetClaw. Adoption takes about 30 seconds via wallet, and there’s also a Chrome plugin as another entry point. The same pet carries its existing context across platforms. In the future, memory will be anchored on-chain to ensure that the same AI pet can share its identity across webpages, plugins, and MCP clients, enabling seamless integration across all terminals. At the same time, the project plans to build an AI platform for pets, incorporating advertising, content creation, and social interaction into a tokenized economy. The investment institutions involved are also highly influential in the crypto space. Amber is a globally leading digital asset company, and its parent company AMBR is listed on Nasdaq, with business operations spanning crypto investment, asset management, and market-making. ViaBTC Capital is the investment arm of ViaBTC Group, a well-known Bitcoin mining pool and crypto asset trading platform, which has previously invested in many notable projects. TBV is an early-stage Web3 fund based in Singapore, managed by First Degree Global Asset Management, which holds a MAS license. As Amber’s official Twitter account mentioned, this investment signifies that consumer-grade AI has entered a new stage! Virtual pets are already a mature consumer product category, and AI companions are one of the fastest-growing directions on mobile. In the context of tokenized economics, this is also an exploration of new directions for the integration of AI and Crypto. From this perspective, the future looks quite promising!
