[Barclays: Asian Data Center Debt Surge Has Reached Banks' Limits] Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on September 1, senior bankers at Barclays stated that the billions of dollars borrowed for the construction of Asian data centers are pushing banks to their limits, prompting them to be more cautious when selecting financing projects. Andrew Ashman, head of Barclays' Asia-Pacific syndicated loan team, said that lenders in the Asia-Pacific region "are reporting significant exposure to the data center industry." Ashman noted that, as a result, banks may be more inclined to choose familiar borrowers or transactions with higher returns. (Jin10)
