On August 27, Solana network fees (measured in SOL) reached a 7-day average of nearly 9,200 SOL, marking an increase of over 80% compared to three months ago. During the same period, 7-day non-voting transaction volume hit a record high of 191 million transactions, up from 88 million a year ago. Jito validator tips averaged 2,073 SOL per day over the past week, a week-over-week increase of 26%. Meanwhile, the SGP-0002 'Double Disinflation' proposal passed with a 67.001% approval rate, raising SOL's annual disinflation rate from 15% to 30%. This is expected to reduce new SOL issuance by approximately 18.9 million over the next six years. According to the proposal, staking yields are projected to drop from around 5.25% to 2.25% by the third year. Validators relying on inflation rewards rather than transaction fees, especially smaller independent operators, may see their profitability impacted. The proposal is not expected to directly affect transaction speed or fee levels for regular users. (The Block) https://(wublock123.com)/news/news-67537
