Iran got hit by bombs, oil jumped 3 points, but gold is still dropping. On Sunday, the U.S. military bombed Al-Raqqah Island, near the Hormuz Strait. Iran fired back with missiles hitting a base in Jordan—first exchange of fire in a month. WTI shot up to 86 in just one morning, and ExxonMobil followed with a 2.5% gain. Energy is the only sector still in the green today. Gold prices crashed on Friday, and now, even with gunfire, it can’t even fake a rebound—it’s still sliding down. The market isn’t panicking at all; it’s just watching that oil shipping route through Hormuz. Oil spikes, inflation expectations rise again, and rate cuts get pushed further back. This is exactly what gold fears the most. It’s lying flat for now, and I’m staying out of the market. As for oil’s 3-point jump, I’m not even lifting a finger. War premiums come and go just like that.
