Goldman Sachs: The Estimated Value of Memory Per Humanoid Robot Ranges from $600 to $800

Odaily Planet Daily reported that Paradis posted on the X platform, stating that Goldman Sachs pointed out that memory for humanoid robots is expected to account for up to 40% of their semiconductor value, excluding GPUs and CPUs. Goldman Sachs indicated that although memory configurations may vary, it assumes that each humanoid robot is equipped with approximately 128GB of DRAM memory and about 1TB of NAND non-volatile memory on average. Based on this assumption, the serviceable market size for DRAM per unit is estimated at $250 to $350, while NAND is estimated at $350 to $450, bringing the total serviceable market size for memory per unit to $600 to $800 or higher. Given the high edge computing load of humanoid robots, Goldman Sachs expects that at least part of the memory in each system will utilize HBM. HBM is primarily supplied by Micron, Samsung, and SK Hynix, and in the short term, Chinese memory manufacturers, including ChangXin Memory Technologies, may face limited competition. Whether humanoid robot manufacturers will procure HBM and traditional DRAM from different suppliers remains to be seen. While DRAM and NAND memory prices may fluctuate, Goldman Sachs used approximate market prices at the time of writing for its assumptions, as many long-term agreements have been signed at these price levels.
