[Berlin Government Network Hacked, Attackers Allegedly Demand 30 Bitcoins as Ransom] According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on August 31, Germany's *DIE ZEIT* reported that the Berlin administrative data network has been under cyberattack for over two weeks. The hacker group Rhysida has threatened to release a large amount of stolen sensitive data if Berlin refuses to pay a ransom of 30 Bitcoins (approximately 2 million euros). The stolen data reportedly includes around 46,000 contracts, more than 11,000 confidential documents, nearly 6,000 passwords, 16,000 emails, and 148 IBAN accounts. The Berlin state government has declined to disclose details of the ransom demand or the data breach, citing "investigative strategy reasons." Governing Mayor Kai Wegner stated that Berlin will not yield to extortion.
