[US Open Tennis Championship Partners Exclusively with Kalshi for Prediction Market Collaboration]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on August 31, according to Front Office Sports, the US Open Tennis Championship has reached an exclusive partnership agreement with prediction market platform Kalshi. Kalshi will immediately become the exclusive prediction market partner of the US Open. Sources indicate that the agreement was finalized only after the qualifying rounds concluded, and specific terms remain unclear.
The report states that the United States Tennis Association (USTA) originally did not plan to introduce prediction market collaboration for this year's US Open. Recent discussions primarily revolved around issues of event integrity and potential collaborations for next year and beyond. However, newly appointed USTA CEO Craig Tiley played a key role in driving the agreement to completion this year.
Sources also revealed that a unique aspect of the agreement is that the USTA will prohibit other prediction market platforms from advertising within the venue or during television broadcasts, including ESPN's broadcast channels. As of the time of reporting, Kalshi has not yet appeared on the official list of US Open partners. Kalshi and ESPN declined to comment, and the USTA has not yet responded.
