The Bitcoin mainnet has mined the first anti-quantum transaction, using hash-based Winternitz One-Time Signature (WOTS) to complete proof of concept. This solution allows each key pair to securely sign only one message and is not currently a full network protocol upgrade. The community is discussing using an OPCAT soft fork to lower the deployment threshold for such signatures, with related functionality already enabled on the signet testnet.
