According to a report by Golden Finance on August 30, citing Axios, on Friday evening, some of the world's largest music publishers filed a major lawsuit against Anthropic, accusing it of committing 'one of the largest and most blatant intellectual property thefts in history.' This lawsuit marks the beginning of a prolonged battle over music, artificial intelligence, and how to protect intellectual property in the era of new technologies. Subsidiaries of Sony Music and Warner Music filed the lawsuit on Friday evening in the Northern District Federal Court of California, naming Anthropic, the company's CEO Dario Amodei, and co-founder Benjamin Mann as defendants.
