Bloomberg reported that CXMT stated its designed chips are for civilian and commercial purposes, not military use, and claimed it was mistakenly added to the blacklist. The lawsuit has been filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, with U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also named as a defendant. In a statement released after filing the lawsuit, CXMT stated that the company is not a military-industrial enterprise and that its reputation and commercial interests have been continuously harmed since being blacklisted for the first time in January 2025. The company added that this action was taken to protect its business interests.
