[New Solana Ecosystem Bank Avici Hacked, Losses Exceed $600,000]
Foresight News reports that the new Solana ecosystem bank, Avici, has been hacked, with over $600,000 in funds transferred out of user accounts. Avici Visa card and payment infrastructure provider Rain stated that its monitoring system identified vulnerabilities in a few projects using older versions of Solana contracts. All related projects have since completed contract upgrades, resolving the issue, and further monitoring will continue. Rain has hired a third-party forensic agency to investigate and has assured that all affected users will receive full compensation.
Avici later clarified that the incident only impacted standalone Solana contracts used to store card balances, and users' self-custodied Solana and EVM wallets were not affected. Upon verification, a total of 1,685 users were impacted, involving approximately $500,000 in card balances. All affected users will receive full refunds. The team has reported the incident to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).
