Minister of Water, Environment and Climate Change, Matthew Samuda, shared an update on the proposed Mahogany Vale Dam during a recent appearance on OPM on Air. The project, which was first contemplated many years ago, is located at Hagley Gap in the hills between St. Thomas and St. Andrew, where the Negro River and the Yallahs River meet. We are now undertaking feasibility studies to determine whether the current water flows can support this major investment. These studies will help us determine whether this project can become a reality and support Jamaica’s water and energy needs in the years ahead.(Andrew Holness)
