Why do people always wait for the bottom, but when the market truly hits bottom, no one dares to buy? After going through several bull and bear cycles, I’ve realized the most ironic thing about the bottom is this: everyone says they’re waiting for low prices, but deep down, they’re waiting for 'low prices, certainty, and immediate rebound.' But the market never offers that kind of package. When BTC dropped to around $3,000 in 2018, the market was talking about miners shutting down their rigs. After the FTX collapse in 2022, everyone was worried about whether more exchanges would go under. The real bottom never comes with good news—it’s always accompanied by unclear fundamentals, low trading volume, and every rebound looking like a bull trap. I used to want confirmation too. When prices dropped, I was afraid there’d be one last dip. After a rebound, I’d think the price was too high. By the time the trend became crystal clear, BTC was already far from the bottom. Then I’d comfort myself again: 'I’ll buy on the pullback.' But the pullback never came, and I didn’t miss a single chance to chase the highs. The bottom isn’t a comfortable place—it’s a zone where odds start improving, but certainty is still very low. If you want to buy cheap, you have to accept the possibility of being stuck for a while. If you want absolute confirmation, you have to accept higher costs. The people who can actually act at the bottom aren’t braver than others—they’ve allocated their positions in advance and are willing to buy in batches, even if they make mistakes. Remember: the biggest characteristic of the bottom isn’t that all risks have disappeared—it’s that bad news is still around, but prices just stop falling.
