[WSJ: UAE National Security Advisor Holds 49% Stake in Trump Family Crypto Project WLFI]
According to The Block citing a Wall Street Journal report, UAE National Security Advisor, known as the 'Spy Chief,' Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed al Nahyan and his co-investors hold a 49% stake in the holding company of World Liberty Financial (WLFI). WLFI is seeking to obtain a nationwide trust bank license in the United States. A few weeks ago, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) preliminarily approved WLFI's trust bank application. WLFI plans to offer services including stablecoin issuance and redemption, fund inflows and outflows, and custody services. Its issued USD1 stablecoin has a market capitalization of $4 billion, ranking fourth. The White House responded, stating there is 'no conflict of interest,' though Trump has faced repeated criticism over conflict of interest issues.
