$646 Million Record-Breaking Donations: Crypto and AI Companies Go All-In on U.S. Midterm Elections

According to USNews, corporate political donations during the 2026 U.S. midterm election cycle have set a new record. Over the 18 months ending in late June, U.S. companies collectively donated approximately $646 million to political activities, surpassing 40% of the total corporate donations for the entire 2024 presidential election cycle. Consumer advocacy organization Public Citizen reported that the crypto industry is currently the largest source of corporate political donations in the U.S., followed by the online gambling and artificial intelligence industries. Together, these three industries contributed over $344 million, accounting for more than half of the total corporate political donations. Among them, crypto entrepreneurs Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss donated $10 million through Gemini Trust Co. to MAGA Inc., a super political action committee supporting Trump.
