StarkWare researcher Avihu Levy's proposed Quantum-Safe Bitcoin (QSB) solution has successfully completed its first transaction confirmation on the Bitcoin mainnet. This solution does not require a soft fork or modifications to existing consensus rules. Instead, it uses an additional hash function-based locking mechanism to shift transaction security from elliptic curve cryptography to hash collision resistance and preimage resistance, reducing the risk posed by future Shor's algorithm attacks on public-key cryptosystems. QSB is still an experimental solution, with offline computation costs for a single transaction around several hundred dollars. Additionally, the transaction format is non-standard and needs to be submitted directly to miners via channels like MARA Slipstream. https://(wublock123.com)/news/quantum-resistant-bitcoin-transaction-onchain-without-consensus-change-67273
