[39 State Bank Associations in the U.S. Form BankChain Alliance to Build Their Own Blockchain Network]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on August 27, 39 state bank associations in the United States established the BankChain Alliance, with plans to build a blockchain network jointly owned and governed by community banks and regional banks, aiming for a launch in 2027. The network is intended to support tokenized deposits, stablecoins, programmable payments, and automated settlements, aiming to help small and medium-sized banks access blockchain financial infrastructure while adhering to existing regulatory standards.
Currently, BankChain has not disclosed its technology provider, underlying blockchain, network architecture, governance model, or regulatory framework, nor has it clarified whether it will be based on existing public chains such as XRP, Ethereum, or Solana. The alliance stated that the network is expected to cover thousands of U.S. financial institutions.
