According to The Wall Street Journal, several large and mid-sized U.S. banks are considering launching or participating in stablecoin projects to counter non-bank companies entering the stablecoin market. Sources say JPMorgan recently evaluated launching its own stablecoin but currently has no active product in development. More than a dozen financial institutions, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Santander, are advancing a global stablecoin project, starting with the U.S. dollar and planning to expand to the euro and other G7 currencies.
