Ox Alpha is currently free to use and quickly climbed to the top of OpenRouter's usage rankings, with usage volume doubling that of DeepSeek. Zhipu plans to publicly release the model's weights later that evening, allowing developers to build other products based on it. According to the model's description, Ox Alpha is an inference model designed for programming and agent tasks, supporting text, image, and video inputs. Zhipu will offer a one-week free trial period, with pricing details yet to be announced. Bloomberg noted that the launch of Ox Alpha once again highlights the speed at which Chinese AI companies are rolling out high-performance models at relatively low costs.
