BlackRock cut the minimum Bitcoin for direct in-kind conversion into its spot Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) from $๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ to $๐ญ๐ โ a 25x reduction. In-kind BTC-to-IBIT conversions have already surpassed $5B.
The threshold cut dramatically widens the universe of eligible participants. Funds and family offices that couldn't meet the $25M minimum can now convert BTC holdings directly into IBIT shares, bypassing cash settlement and its associated slippage and tax friction.
๐๐๐ฝ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ: Lowering the entry floor 25x is a meaningful supply-side change โ it opens IBIT's in-kind route to a much broader tier of institutional BTC holders. The $5B already converted proves the mechanism has real traction. This is a durable structural improvement to BTC's institutional access pipeline, not a one-off flow.
For BTC traders, watch IBIT inflow data in coming weeks for whether the lower threshold accelerates conversion volume. BTC is tradeable on Hyperliquid and Aster.
