[OpenAI Reportedly Pre-Trained Bel Model: Over 10T Parameters, Aiming for General Artificial Intelligence]
According to IT Home, the source @synthwavedd posted a tweet today on the X platform, revealing that OpenAI has completed pre-training its next-generation model, internally codenamed Bel, which is the direct successor to the Doug model, with a total parameter count exceeding 10T. The report states that OpenAI aims to develop the Bel model into the foundational model following GPT-6, potentially reaching the threshold for general artificial intelligence (AGI).
General artificial intelligence (AGI) refers to a hypothetical intelligent system capable of learning, understanding, and performing any intellectual task that humans can do. Unlike narrow artificial intelligence, which can only handle specific tasks, AGI possesses cross-domain generalization capabilities, reasoning abilities, and self-learning skills to adapt to unknown environments.
