According to a CoinDesk column, Mateusz Kara, founder and CEO of Morphic Financial Group, stated that after the EU MiCA transition period ended on July 1, Poland's previous virtual currency business registration can no longer serve as a legal basis for continuing to provide related crypto services. Meanwhile, domestic legislative implementation has been delayed, leaving local companies facing regulatory authorization challenges. The article mentions that Poland previously had over 2,000 registered VASPs, but as of the end of the transition period, no MiCA licenses had been issued. As a result, some companies may shift to other EU jurisdictions like Germany, France, or the Netherlands. Kara believes this could lead to a long-term outflow of Polish crypto businesses, talent, and capital, but he also thinks MiCA overall will help enhance consumer protection and institutionalization in the European crypto industry.
