[Ethereum Community Releases 'Post-Quantum Computing Supported Deposit Contract' EIP Proposal] Foresight News reports that the Ethereum community has released an EIP proposal for a 'Post-Quantum Computing Supported Deposit Contract.' The proposal includes introducing a new contract to support variable-length public keys and credential metadata, as well as incorporating explicit scheme identifiers (scheme 0 reserved for the current BLS deposits). The contract will no longer rely on the Merkle tree structure of the old deposit contract but will instead transmit deposit information to the consensus layer through log-derived execution requests as defined by EIP-7685. Additionally, the contract features an irreversible mode controlled by protocol system calls: deposits are initially disabled, BLS deposits are enabled at a specified timestamp, and BLS deposits are permanently disabled at a later timestamp (cannot be re-enabled). During the migration period, execution clients will need to merge deposit requests from both the new and old contracts.
