[Cosmos EVM Module Faces Security Incident, Multiple Chains Affected]
Foresight News reports that Cosmos Labs tweeted that users of the Cosmos EVM module are currently affected by an ongoing security incident. The security and engineering teams have proactively responded and recommended that Cosmos EVM chains in contact with them request validators to halt chain operations. An incident report will be released after the issue is resolved.
Subsequently, community member De tweeted that when the Cosmos engineering team released version v0.7.2 on GitHub on August 19, they only included a single silent note stating, 'Contains critical security fixes, all chains should coordinate upgrades as soon as possible,' without issuing a public security announcement or notifying through major channels. As a result, multiple chains, including MANTRA, TAC, KiiChain, and Nesa, were attacked.
