[Iran's Currency Drops Nearly 10% in Two Weeks, Central Bank Governor Calls Depreciation a 'Temporary Phenomenon']
The Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdolnaser Hemmati, stated that although the Iranian rial has been continuously depreciating, this depreciation is merely 'temporary.' Over the past two weeks, the rial has depreciated by nearly 10%. During the early stages of the war, the currency experienced a significant drop, and the U.S. is set to announce its 'economic war' plan against Tehran. In a speech broadcast on national television, Hemmati said: 'This is only temporary, meaning there will be fluctuations.' He attributed the damage to Iran's economy to the U.S.'s 'political propaganda,' adding that he believes 'the situation will improve, and the problems will be resolved.'
