Dalio: Debt crisis is looming, suggests selling bonds, buying gold and Bitcoin Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio stated that investors should reduce bond holdings and allocate up to 15% of their portfolio to gold to hedge against the risks of a U.S. debt crisis. Dalio estimates that U.S. government revenue this year is around $5.5 trillion, while spending reaches $7.5 trillion, leaving a $2 trillion gap. He warns that the U.S. debt crisis could arrive in 'about three years, with a margin of error of no more than two years.' Dalio advocates for narrowing the budget deficit through a combination of spending cuts, increased tax revenue, and lower interest rates, and predicts that 'currencies not issued by governments, such as gold and Bitcoin, will perform relatively well.'
