According to Criptonoticias, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated on August 23 that developing countries like Venezuela, Argentina, Bolivia, and Turkey are increasingly using USDT, primarily for domestic and cross-border trade. It serves as a digital dollar and a store of value in situations of rapid local currency depreciation, cash dollar shortages, or restricted financial systems. In Venezuela, small and medium-sized enterprises use USDT for settling import and export transactions. In Bolivia, it’s being utilized for commercial deals, including fuel purchases. Argentina’s street economy and peer-to-peer markets widely use USDT for value preservation and exchange, while Turkish residents rely on USDT to cope with ongoing inflation.
