[South Korea's Semiconductor Exports Surge 198.8% Year-on-Year in the First 20 Days of August] Odaily Planet Daily reports that The Kobeissi Letter posted on X, stating that South Korea's chip industry continues to grow rapidly, driven by AI demand. Data shows that South Korea's chip trade surplus in June rose to a record high of approximately $35 billion, more than doubling compared to a year ago, while the trade surplus for non-chip products during the same period was only about $1 billion. Additionally, South Korea's semiconductor exports in the first 20 days of August increased by 198.8% year-on-year, exports of computer-related products grew by 242.1% year-on-year, and overall exports during the same period rose by 61.5% year-on-year, marking the second consecutive month of over 60% year-on-year growth following a 62.9% increase in July.
