[Daily Ship Traffic in the Strait of Hormuz Remains in Single Digits]
According to a report by Golden Finance, research from the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) indicates that commercial traffic in the Strait of Hormuz remains severely suppressed due to ongoing Iranian military activities and maritime security risks, with daily ship traffic hovering in single digits. Despite continued harassment by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, including drone flyovers, very high frequency (VHF) radio calls, and the establishment of mine danger zones, UKMTO stated that 103 vessels entered this strategic waterway in the past week, while 89 vessels exited. However, this total is only about 20% of the average traffic volume during the seven days prior to the conflict. The report found that oil tanker transportation remains the primary mode of traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, accounting for 45% of total traffic. The southern Oman route continues to be the highest-risk passage, with 16 of the 18 reported shelling incidents by UKMTO since July 6 occurring along this route. (Jin10)
