[Hackers Exploit 'GTA 6' Gameplay Leak to Orchestrate Token Scam, Suspected Pump-and-Dump Scheme]
According to Bits.media, security experts have discovered that hackers used leaked 'GTA 6' gameplay footage to plan a cryptocurrency pump-and-dump scam. The hacker group CyberLeek initially leaked two files and sold them on the dark web. After the files were purchased, multiple domains and a token named Cyberleek were created. Over the next three days, approximately 20 fake accounts continuously bought the token in similar amounts, artificially inflating its market value to millions of dollars. The organizers then sold off their holdings at the peak, cashing out, while late investors were left holding devalued tokens.
The hackers also set up a voting system, allowing users to choose the next piece of leaked content, but voting required purchasing the token first. Ultimately, only one option received 200 votes, while the others received none, indicating that the voting results were manipulated.
