[Apple Lays Off Staff in Siri and Vision Pro Teams, Redirects Resources to AI and New Devices]
DeepTech TechFlow reports that on August 22, Apple (AAPL.O) is laying off employees across multiple teams responsible for the Siri digital assistant and Vision Pro headset. This move is part of the company's efforts to concentrate resources on new devices and the field of artificial intelligence. According to informed sources, Apple is also cutting staff in its software engineering division's 'Intelligent System Experience' team, which is responsible for certain AI features on the company's devices. Sources revealed that as part of this adjustment, Apple has effectively shut down a team dedicated to the Vision Pro gaming business and scaled back the department responsible for creating immersive video content for the device. The layoffs have affected more than 200 people in total, with approximately 100 positions eliminated in the Vision Pro division and another 100 positions cut from the Siri and software teams. In a statement, Apple acknowledged that the company is making adjustments to certain teams 'to drive business forward and deliver the best experience for users.' (Jin10)
