According to the Financial Times, Ken Griffin, founder of Citadel Securities, addressed the company's acquisition of artificial intelligence fund Situational Awareness assets under Leopold in a letter to clients on Friday. A letter obtained by CNBC revealed that Griffin informed clients that Citadel Securities had divested over 80% of the overall risk in the originally acquired portfolio through more than 100 block trades (with a market value exceeding $4 billion).
Griffin wrote in the letter: 'Such a large-scale transaction would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of the trading teams and prime brokerage teams serving both companies' banks. I am deeply grateful for their focused efforts in swiftly completing the portfolio transfer.'
