[CFTC Chairman: If Congress Continues to Stall the Clarity Act, Will Push for Crypto Market Regulatory Framework] Odaily Planet Daily News – Michael Selig, Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), stated that if the Clarity Act remains stalled due to Democratic obstruction, the CFTC will utilize its existing authority to begin establishing a regulatory framework for the crypto asset market and will urge staff to expedite formal rule proposals. Selig has instructed staff to explore incorporating digital asset market structures into CFTC regulations, potentially bringing both currently registered CFTC entities and unregistered crypto exchanges under its regulatory scope. Rules tailored for digital assets may allow for leveraged and margin trading. On Thursday, Bitcoin ETF net inflows reached $606 million, marking a single-day high since May 1; Ethereum ETF net inflows hit $219 million, the highest since September 2025. Over the past 24 hours, crypto market short liquidations exceeded $1.2 billion, with nearly $5 billion liquidated over the past two days. (Decrypt)
