[China Merchants Wing Lung Bank Conducts Comprehensive Review of Mainland Investors' 'Zero-Balance Non-Active Investment Accounts'; Failure to Submit Declaration May Lead to Transaction Suspension and Account Closure] BlockBeats News, August 21: China Merchants Wing Lung Bank issued an important notice to customers today, stating that it is cooperating with the latest risk management and account compliance guidelines from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Securities and Futures Commission to comprehensively optimize and review investment accounts held by mainland investors. Upon review, all investment accounts (including wealth management, securities, and/or paper gold passbook accounts) held by relevant customers that have no asset balance as of May 22, 2026, and no investment transaction records in the past 12 months, have been classified as 'zero-balance non-active investment accounts.' To maintain normal account operations, the bank requires customers to promptly submit a 'Non-Active Investment Account Declaration.' Customers can complete the submission via an automatic pop-up in their personal account on the China Merchants Wing Lung Bank mobile app. Joint account holders or those not registered on the mobile app can call the customer service hotline and follow the instructions to complete the process. Each joint account holder must submit the declaration separately. The main contents of the declaration include confirming the accuracy of personal information, the legality of fund sources, that the account has not been suspended or closed due to suspicious documents, and timely notification of any changes in information. The bank reminds customers: If the declaration is not submitted in a timely manner, new investment transactions (including stock purchases, subscription to wealth management products, etc.) may be suspended. If the declaration remains unsubmitted, starting from November 2026, the bank may proceed to close the relevant 'non-active investment accounts.' Once an account is suspended or closed, no new securities or wealth management product investment transactions will be possible.
