[European Central Bank Governing Council Member Kazaks: Prepared to Address 'Concerning' Inflation] Jin10 Data, August 21 – European Central Bank Governing Council Member Kazaks stated that the ECB is fully prepared to take further action if necessary to bring inflation back to target levels from its current 'somewhat concerning' state. He noted that while consumer price growth remains 'hovering around 3%,' it is still too early to predict the outcome of the ECB's meeting next month. Following the first rate hike in June, the market has almost fully priced in a 25 basis point increase in the ECB's deposit rate. Kazaks said, 'If necessary, we are ready to act to bring inflation back to 2% within a reasonable timeframe. We will meet again in September to assess the data and economic outlook before making a decision. Given the current situation, further rate hikes have their pros and cons.'
