[Chainlink CEO: The Speed of On-Chain Adoption in the U.S. Financial System Will Determine Its Global Standing]
BlockBeats News, August 21 — Chainlink co-founder and CEO Sergey Nazarov stated at the inaugural meeting of the U.S. CFTC Innovation Advisory Committee that he appreciates the CFTC and SEC for finally beginning to collaborate efficiently and constructively, rather than engaging in public conflicts as they had in the past. He believes this alone has significantly enhanced the reputation and trust in the U.S. financial markets and will help establish a unified regulatory vision, avoiding the previous situation where '16, 25 conflicting rules' hindered innovation.
Nazarov pointed out that regulatory fragmentation has come at a severe cost. Chainlink provides data, cross-chain, and other infrastructure for thousands of applications, supporting the majority of the DeFi ecosystem. Over the past seven years, he has personally witnessed hundreds of developers leave the U.S. due to regulatory uncertainty, choosing not to build high-quality applications in the U.S. or serve U.S. consumers. These innovators are no longer present at such meetings, which is a significant loss for the U.S. financial system and its consumers.
He emphasized that the next trend is clear: the tokenization of equities will unlock massive on-chain value. Currently, the U.S. stock market accounts for approximately 60% of the global equity market's value and flow. If the global financial system accelerates its on-chain adoption, the U.S. must advance at an equal or even faster pace to maintain this dominant position. Otherwise, innovation and market advantages may be lost.
