[Vance: The U.S. Will Continue to Apply Economic Pressure on Iran to Prevent the Reconstruction of Nuclear Facilities] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on August 21, U.S. Vice President Vance stated: 'If we can increase the supply of oil and natural gas sufficiently to bring down energy prices, while at the same time punishing Iran for attacking commercial vessels, this will exert tremendous economic pressure on Iran and alter their considerations for future negotiations—such as what kind of agreement they hope to reach and what kind of relationship they wish to establish with the United States.' Vance said: 'We are now entering a new phase, where the most effective tool is the economic pressure we can apply to Iran. This is a delicate game, but the developments over the past few weeks have shown that the pressure they are enduring far exceeds ours. We will continue to maintain this pressure because we believe it is the most effective approach.' Vance added: 'We must return to the starting point of the matter. The President has stated that Iran cannot possess nuclear weapons. Now, their nuclear facilities have been destroyed, but the question is whether they will attempt to rebuild these facilities. Therefore, fundamentally, we are working to create a new reality—not only one where we can confidently say their nuclear facilities have been destroyed, but also one where we can confidently say they will never attempt to rebuild these facilities again.'
