[A New Wave of Chip Price Hikes Hits, Semiconductor Companies Announce Price Increases Intensively] Odaily Planet Daily reports that the "siphon effect" of AI on the semiconductor supply chain continues to intensify. Entering the second half of 2026, a new wave of chip price hikes is sweeping across the industry with broader coverage and greater intensity. Leading RF chip manufacturer Maxscend issued a price adjustment notice, announcing that starting September 1, new prices will be applied to its entire range of RF products. The following day, Nationz Technologies followed suit, raising prices for certain MCU products by 10% to 20%. On the international front, STMicroelectronics (ST) will implement its third price adjustment of the year on August 23, while Analog Devices (ADI) will enforce its second round of new prices starting September 13. From memory chips to MCUs, RF front-end components to power semiconductors, analog chips to passive components, price adjustment notices are being issued intensively. Compared to the wave of price hikes earlier this year, the standout feature of this round is the explosive demand for AI computing power, which is creating a "siphon effect" on mature process capacities. Coupled with rising supply chain costs, tightening supply and demand dynamics, and expanding demand for domestic substitution, these factors are collectively driving the semiconductor industry into an upward cycle of simultaneous volume and price increases.
