[Gnosis Chain Approved by GnosisDAO to Transition into EEZ Rollup, Becoming the First Production-Grade Instance] Odaily Planet Daily News: GnosisDAO has approved the transition of the blockchain network Gnosis Chain from an independent Layer 1 network to an Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ) Rollup powered by zero-knowledge proofs. The network will eliminate its independent validator set and instead rely on Ethereum validators for transaction settlement. The proposal received support from 123,158 GNO, with 115 votes against and 151 abstentions. A total of 54 participants were involved in the vote, with a total participation of 123,425 GNO, exceeding the quorum threshold of 75,000 GNO. The upgrade is tentatively planned to begin in late 2026 or early 2027, depending on the readiness of EEZ technology. After the upgrade, Gnosis Chain's native smart contracts will be able to call Ethereum in the same transaction and utilize the returned results, while also gaining access to Ethereum mainnet assets and liquidity.
